Our Churchyard
Churchyards are a special place where we lay to rest our loved ones and visit to remember them. In Maresfield we have burials and a Garden of Remembrance (both in the lower cemetry) where cremated remains can be buried.
Over the past few years Maresfield Churchyard has been maintained by a hard-working team of volunteers and funding from the council, though care of individual graves is the responsibility of families.
Churchyards are governed by regulations that govern what is permitted in terms of headstones and ornaments. The Maresfield Churchyard regulations can be read here:
Maresfield Churchyard Regulations
Memorial Application Form
2024 Fees, including memorial fees
As stated in the regulations, it is essential that all designs are submitted to the Rector before moving forward.
Periodically, the churchyard is inspected and items that fall outside of the regulations will be removed.
Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
