Worshipping Together at
St Bartholomew's Church
A Family
We are a family and, like a family, are all different. We offer a variety of services throughout the month with the aim of providing something that will encourage and enable all of us to worship God. An important part of our time together is our fellowship, so there is always an opportunity for a cuppa and a snack during or after the service.
Sundays
1st Sunday at 11:15am - All Age Worship
This service is for everyone, but we try and make sure it is accessible and inclusive for the younger members of the congregation. They are often involved in the readings and prayers and the talk has them in mind, as well as the adults.
2nd Sunday at 11:15am - Holy Communion
This is our monthly communion service where we celebrate and remember Christ's sacrificial love. It also includes a Sunday School and pre-school activities.
3rd Sunday at 11:15am - Morning Prayer
This service includes plenty of singing and opportunity for prayer. We usually hear from a church activity or individual and spend time praying for them. There is no pressure to join in with the prayers and the service structure will feel very familiar. Sunday School runs on this Sunday.
3rd Sunday at 4pm - St Barts at 4
Join us in church at 4pm for a chance to spend time with others over a drink and something to eat, such as pastries or a slice of cake. Everyone is welcome and we will have things for children to do. We sing a couple of songs, watch a short video about Jesus' life and spend the rest of the time talking, drawing, or just being together. We aim to finish between 4:45 - 5pm.
4th Sunday at 11:15am - Morning Worship
This service includes plenty of singing, both hymns old and new. Sunday School runs on this Sunday.
5th Sunday at 10:30am - Joint services with Nutley
Every fifth Sunday we have a single joint service between the two churches. It usually alternates where the service takes place. Please keep an eye on the website for where the service will be.
Thursdays
On the 4th Thursday of the month at 10am we hold a Book of Common Prayer service. This is a traditional service, that is rich with meaning, reflective and restful. We often have a cup of coffee afterwards.
